Part-time freelance Editorial Assistant working from home on international science journals
We are seeking 15 freelancers who would like to work from home as an editorial assistant to our international customers. The tasks require an excellent level of English and a keen eye for detail. You need to have the ability to learn tasks quickly and work to a high standard of accuracy and productivity. You must have a fast computer (laptop or desktop), high speed internet access and we recommend a second monitor.
This is not a sales or marketing role. There is no telephone or cold calling work and you are not required to generate your own workload.
The work requires you to check academic manuscripts against a set checklist of requirements. No scientific knowledge is required and you do not need to edit or proofread the content. You will also need to email authors to request amendments to their manuscripts. All email templates are pre-written and available for you to send via the online web-based system.
You will work in a remote homebased team, supporting each other as well as having daily contact with a member of staff in the UK. We keep in touch with telephone, Skype and Slack (instant messaging).
3 days of paid training will take place in Budapest, following by on-going online training and support during a 12 week probation period. All work is detailed and documented, enabling you to quickly learn each task and reach the required level of accuracy and productivity. Daily feedback will be given during your training and probation period and ongoing support is available throughout your contract.
Our current UK freelancer group is mostly parents of young children who wish to work in a challenging but rewarding environment, while being at home for their family. The role is fully flexible within each 24 hour period i.e. the work can be completed at any time of the day and from any location.
